Happy birthday Deepika Padukone

Deepika Padukone, who turns 34 today, is one of the highest-paid actresses in India. The beauty queen of the tinsel town was born to badminton legend Prakash Padukone, was born in Copenhagen in Denmark. She was raised in Bengaluru. Deepika, who won Filmfare Awards and other prestigious awards, also features in listings of the nation’s most popular personalities, and Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world in 2018.

It is known to all that Deepika Padukone played badminton in national level championships. However she left her career in the sport to become a fashion model. She debuted in 2006 as the title character of the Kannada film ‘Aishwarya’. Deepika Padukone then played a dual role opposite Shah Rukh Khan in her first Bollywood release, ‘Om Shanti Om’ (2007), which won her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. Since then, there was no looking for her. She received praise for her starring role in ‘Love Aaj Kal’ (2009).

It was Homi Adajania’s ‘Cocktail’ (2012), which proved to be a turning point in her career. She went on to star in the romantic comedies ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’ (2013) and Chennai Express (2013), ‘Happy New Year’ (2014), ‘Bajirao Mastani’ (2015) and ‘Padmaavat’ (2018), and above all the Hollywood action film ‘XXX: Return of Xander Cage’ (2017). She brilliant acted in the tragic romance ‘Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela’ (2013) and in the comedy-drama ‘Piku’ (2015), winning two Filmfare Awards for Best Actress.

Deepika Padukone turned produced and formed her own company ‘Ka Productions’ in the year 2018. She produced and acted in Chhapaak (2020). Her role as an acid attack survivor was highly appreciated. Married to superstar Ranveer Singh, she will soon be seen in ‘83’.
