“Some people move on, but not us.”

The summers of the year 2008 witnessed the release of a movie ‘Iron Man’ helmed by ‘Marvel Studios’, the success of which made way for carving a new cinematic era in the action, fantasy, and sci-fi genre. The evocative act of the already renowned actor Robert Downey Jr. as the self – driven billionaire Tony Stark turned superhero, alongside the landmark the movie is, received unanimous love and applause from everywhere.

Since then, there has been no looking back for ‘Marvel Studios’, both creatively and monetarily. The complete Iron Man franchise, along with injection of superheroes Hulk (Edward Norton) and Thor (Chris Hemsworth) in 2011, into the ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ called “MCU”, took a giant leap with the release of another summer Marvel movie in 2011, giving us our beloved Captain America (Chris Evans) and the concept of “Avengers”.

Avengers Endgame HD ImagesThese Avengers took the entire audience by storm, driving the already Marvel fans even crazier. This movie is very dear to me too – being my first acquaintance with the celebrated ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’; what otherwise had initially seemed to me a superficial glorification of larger than life superheroes. I vividly remember watching it with all heart, and eventually,‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ got a new fan. If this wasn’t enough to celebrate, the next movie in 2012 treated us with all our Avengers together – Iron Man, Hulk (played by Mark Ruffalo), Thor, Captain America, also introducing to us – the virtuous villain Thanos (Josh Brolin).

‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’ then remained no more the same. This movie made it an emotion, an emotion hard to express until experienced by oneself. Topping the nobility of these human superheroes, this cinematic universe further served us some new creature characters in ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ in 2014, which initially looked out of place in this universe of powerful humans. I later contradicted my opinion, once realizing that they all have a purpose to fulfill. The release of the movie ‘Doctor Strange’ in 2016 feat. new favorite Avenger and the ever – effective actor Benedict Cumberbatch remained no more just the genius Sherlock Holmes. Simultaneously, the legacies of Ant-Man (Paul Rudd), Spiderman (Tom Holland), and the (Oscar winner movie) Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) were seamlessly molding into the team of Avengers as assets.

Avengers Endgame HD ImagesThis resolution got finally fulfilled when we get to witness this majestic army of these magnanimous superheroes fighting together against one Thanos in Marvel’s 2018 summer release ‘Avengers: Infinity War’. The movie in its entirety emanates as a different experience altogether, exploring and spreading in all directions as it possibly could, keeping the audience hooked to see the winner of the magnificent Infinity War. Ending with the infamous snap of Thanos in ‘Avengers : Infinity War’ that dusts – off half of world’s population, expectations from Russo brothers for the final offering ‘Avengers : Endgame’ were sky-high; and like my fellow Marvel fans, I too was eager to experience how the Avengers would now beat the Thanos, whatever it takes, in the exclusive out of 14 million ways that our Doctor Stranger saw through Time Stone.

After a culmination of 21 movies with their release spanning over more than a decade, finally Doctor Strange declared – “We are in the endgame now”. On 26th April, 2019, the extensive excitement since Infinity War received its pampering in name of “Avengers: Endgame”. If you adhere to the opinion that nothing can top the narrative of ‘Avengers: Infinity War’, this one delivers it successfully, with the addition of Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) to the Avengers army. While the Infinity War got the Avengers scattering into their own worlds, the Endgame brings them together, whatever it takes. Even the somewhat not so good chaps Iron Man and Captain America connect, as Cap exclaims – “Avengers, assemble!”.

Avengers Endgame HD ImagesAs a standalone spectacle a movie, ‘Avengers: Endgame’ boasts of the able direction of the Russo Brothers, under which our impeccable crème de la crème cast heads; each character successfully serving a unique cause in the narrative. The soundtrack is injected seamlessly into the watertight narration of a weighted screenplay, and perpetually induces goosebumps. The final 30 minutes reflect a different level of cinematic indulgence, straight hitting your heart and head with an emotional spree of moments like never before – Remember the war of Hogwarts? Always.

In its runtime of over 180 minutes, the movie as a viewing experience in the theater is an exhilarating roller coaster ride of emotions, as the audience erupted to almost every sequence; with my soul ultimately experiencing a bittersweet feeling as its end credits rolled. I stayed till the end, though knowing that there will no Post Credits sequence this time. The same depicted not just the end of a mere movie, it marks the end of a cinematic era of ‘Marvel Cinematic Universe’, and glorious legacies of our celebrated Avengers. After all this time, as a proud Captain America fan, I agree with him as he endorses – “No matter what, I promise you. If you need me, I’ll be there!”.
